L.L. Bean Microlight FS2 – Lightweight Two Person Tent
By Editor | April 14, 2014
The L.L. Bean Microlight FS2 is a great performing lightweight tent for about $200, it can withstand 25 mph and it weighs less than 4 pounds.
It features two doors and good floor space with weatherproofing to handle all three-seasons. When the tent is pitched and set up, the tension is applied to the fabric and there is no ripple or bunching in sight (less flap and wind noise), thanks to the curved tent poles.
The tent shell once set up creates two vestibule areas large enough to put a large multi-day pack. The walls of tent are mesh and gets rid of condensation quite well. If things get a bit wet when raining you can always unzip the vestibule, don’t worry the water will not get into the tent, the design drips water away from the doors.
If you are a tall individual, the floor space is plenty at 31-square foot and the height of the tent is 39-inches which allows enough room to sit. Inside the L.L. Bean Microlight FS 2 there are two small pockets for you to place things like your glasses, flashlight, headlamp or keys etc when you need somewhere to store stuff before going to bed.
Price: $199
Weight: 3 lbs
