By Editor | May 8, 2012

Doesn’t matter if it’s summer hiking and it gets breezy or if it is cross country skiing in the winter, the Patagonia Super Cell jacket will keep the elements away so you are dry and comfortable.

It is a light shell jacket that can be stuffed into its own sac. The Patagonia Super Cell is an all around performer with wind protection and light rain protection, thanks to the Super Cells outer material which is made of heavy 40-denier nylon with Gore-Tex Paclite membrane.

This jacket is lightweight coming in at only 13 oz. This is because the inner lining is an oil-repelling coating. For venting out moisture there are two 14-inch long waterproof arm pit zippers, these are quite useful when things get hot and heavy.

There are also two pockets near the chest to hold your gear and maps etc. The hood is helmet friendly and the top of the hood is extended to prevent rain from getting onto your forehead.

To keep things comfortable around your neck the Patagonia Super Cell’s is lined with fleece. Other great features are waterproof front zippers, good cut, not bulky but can fit layers underneath.Price: $249
Weight: 13 oz
