If you want a warm soft shell jacket then the Westcomb Skeena Hoddy is for you. It’s like wearing a warm fleece jacket with lots of wind and water protection.

The reason why the Skeena Hoody is very warm is because the lining which is made of merino wool.  The merino wool lining is placed at the chest, hood, shoulders and upper arms…this offers warmth similar to that of a down jacket.

Waterproofing is provided via a waterproof / breathable membrane called eVent and it blocks out wind and water.  For stretchability Schoeller Dryskin is used on the back, the sides and under the arms. This provides additional breathability as well.

The front pockets are also lined with wool insulation which makes great place to put your hands to keep warm.

The Westcomb Skeena Hoody is  more suited for windy and cooler conditions, so during cool spring and fall evenings as well as for winter activities this would be a great soft shell jacket to bring along.  Although the jacket doesn’t stuff away small, the wind, warmth and waterproofing is worth the extra room in your pack.
