If you are looking for a 3 season jacket that won’t break the bank, look no further than the First Ascent BC-200 jacket. The BC-200 hardshell is lightweight and offers great all weather protection for $199. For skiers, snowboarders and mountain climbers this represent value for their money, however it can be used during those rainy summer excursions as well.

For really cold weather the First Ascent BC-200 harshell can be worn over thick sweaters and mid-layers because of the bagging cut / design of the jacket to keep you warm and protect you from high winds. First Ascent features their own waterproof breathable fabric / membrane combination which will keep you from overheating because it does a good job getting the moisture out.

The BC-200 hardshell has three chest pockets that are just above waist belt height, it also has cuffs adjustments using velcro and hood adjustment with cord. This hardshell jacket also features welded seams and at this price point that feature is a bonus. One feature that the First Ascent BC-200 harshell jacket doesn’t have are arm pit zippers for further venting of moisture, this was done save weight because the waterproof / breathable fabric already does a good job at eliminating moisture.

In conclusion the First Ascent is a super value at $199 for a tough weather three season jacket.
