This overnight backpack can hold a lot of outdoor stuff. The L.L Bean Mountain Guide features 3,350 cubic inch of storage, plenty of room for long trips. The vertical carry center straps can hold a sleeping pad, snowshoes or snowboard with no problem, the straps have molded plastic re-inforcements so the sharp edges of snowboards won’t cut it easily.
Instead of opening the top of the pack, you can easily get to your outdoor gear using the side zipper to rummage through things that are in the main compartment, side zippers are always a good feature on large backpacks, because you do not want to go through the top opening to get to stuff you packed way at the bottom.
