Patagonia Reconnaissance Ski Jacket – Versatile BackCountry Jacket

By Editor | February 16, 2010

Patagonia Reconnaissance Ski Jacket Green

The Patagonia Reconnaissance ski jacket has a Durable Wet Repellent (DWR) coating and lots of Primaloft Eco insulation, all to make you warm while on a long and windy ski lift ride. The shell of the Reconnaissance jacket features a highly permeable soft-shell material and does a great job to keep the heat in, however if you feel too toasty then there are arm pit zippers to release some of that internal moisture to cool you down. This is your goto jacket for your winter outdoor excursions.

The Patagonia Reconnaissance is a light in terms of weight for a ski jacket. With the amount of features on this jacket you would not expect it to be so light. Brushed polyester around the chin and back of the neck keeps you comfortable and there also ski season pass holder and plenty of pockets for your stuff including an MP3 player pocket. A cool feature about the Patagonia Reconnaissance ski jacket is that there is a piece of flexible fabric at the back of the jacket that allows the jacket to flex with you as move your body skiing down the slopes.

For warmer ski environments you are able to remove the powder skirt and insulated hood so you won’t overheat.
Although the arm pit zippers can be a bit larger to allow more moisture out, the Patagonia Reconnaissance jacket is still a great all-around jacket for winter outings and it is made of mostly recycled materials.

Price: $375 USD Weight: 2.4 lbs
