Crescent Moon Gold Series Snow Shoes
By Editor | February 25, 2009
If your heading on a long trek in the snow, then these shoes will take you there in comfort.
The Crescent Moon Gold snow shoes are made to eat miles on level terrain. One reason: the bindings. The straps, which tighten with a single pull, are made from a stretchy polymer that’s snug and comfortable on the flats. A ratcheting heel strap secures the rear.
Problem was, what felt great when striding was too stretchy on high-angle traverses; testers said their heels drifted sideways because the straps couldn’t prevent pivoting. The teardrop shape and angled nose prevent crossover, while the tough, textured plastic decking offers good flotation.
