Helly Hansen Venus Jacket – Ultralight Shell Jacket
By Editor | March 19, 2008
The Helly Hansen Venus Jacket has been called a layer of “second skin” by some gear reviewers, because the DWR-coated wind shell is so thin you can see right through it. The Helly Hansen Venus Jacket is compact and fits in your shorts or pant pocket, and it is also very light so you have no excuse not to carry it with you.
The Helly Hansen Venus ultralight jacket features a full length zipper, waist drawcord, and reflective logos it is an example of pure simplicity. Moisture passes through the fabric almost instantly ( no clammy feeling on your arms) and there’s some room around the shoulders for good mobility. Standard armpit vents enhance its excellent breathability. In light rain, water beaded and rolled off nicely, making the Venus ultralight jacket an excellent outer layer for fair-weather day hikes.
The Helly Hansen Venus ultralight jacket does have its limits though, so for you die hard bush wackers don’t put it through heavily branched areas, where a snag could lead to a rip.
The Venus ultralight jacket is available for both men and women.
Price: $100 USD Weight: 1.9 oz.
