Ha’ Apai Islands, Tonga
By Editor | January 31, 2008
This area in the South Pacific has no fewer than 170 islands in the South.
Volcanoes ringed by white sand beaches, lagoons, and humpback whales, porpoises, seabirds and plenty of reeds for midday diving. Pleasurable activities include sea kayaking, snorkelling or just going for a hike through the beautiful wilderness area.
This is the Kingdom of Tonga, which has all that and fewer than 10,000 people.
It is the only Polyensian country that has not been colonized, so it has that distinctive non-Western flavour.
