Kayland Vertico Light – Lightweight High-Cut Hiking Boots

By Editor | February 1, 2011

Kayland Vertico Light - high cut hiking boots lightweight

The Kayland Vertico light is feather weight and offers plenty of support. This boot is built on the same platform as Kayland’s other more heftier boot called Vertigo High, but this lightweight version of the Vertico is only 20 ounces which weighs less than some low cut hiking boots.

The Kayland Vertico Light however is built very well, thanks to the use of leather that joins the sole to the upper part of the hiking boot, it also has very good ankle support and a really good fit.

The sole has a slightly outward shape and grips quite well on softer terrain, but not as grippy on slippery steep rocks, so take caution.  The Vertico Light has a breathable eVent membrane and Cocona lining which keeps your feet quite dry on hot humid days.

The Kayland Vertico Light will have no problem handling an excursion with over 20 lb backpack on your back. In rough terrain the Vertico Light’s nylon polyester weave hiking boot uppers will take on the loose rocks, gravel and branches cause it is very resistant to abrasion, scuffs or scratches.  If you decide to go through some large puddles don’t worry the Kayland Vertico Light will keep your feet dry as it is one of the most waterproof boots out there.

Price:  $180      Weight:  20 oz
