REI Cruise UL – Multi-Day / Weekender Backpack – Review
By Editor | August 23, 2010
The REI Cruise UL multi-day backpack has a unique design which makes its framesheet-type frame rigid. To make it stiff there are hollow tubes stays that run down the back from a short horizontal stay at the top. Other comfort features include curved shoulder straps, molded lumbar pad and hip hugging belt with suspension.
Load control with the REI Cruise UL backpack is great, thanks to the internal compression that hugs the load / gear with a single pull, this feature keeps the exterior of the pack strap free. For a $130 multi-day pack there are a lot of features including:
- Big front pouch with zip pockets
- Multiple lash points
- Small hip-belt pockets
- Hydration sleeve
- Mesh water bottle pockets
No matter what type of terrain your excursions will take you the rip stop nylon of the REI Cruise UL backpack will be able to withstand the beating, add to that the suspension system that you can fine tune with easy velcro torso adjustments and you can rest assure that your day hike will not result in too many aches and pains. The REI Cruise UL weekender backpack comes in two different torso sizes to fit different body types there is a 17 inch and 20 inch.
