Vibram Five Fingers – Sandals / Slippers
By Editor | May 31, 2008
Need a foot massage after a day of hiking? Wear these newfangled slippers instead.
When we first laid eyes on these crazy-looking five-toed foot gloves, we laughed. But we soon became addicted to their therapeutic performance. The thin synthetic upper stretches over your toes and forefoot, somehow spreading out-and relaxing-the bones and muscles in your feet.
The effect is like walking barefoot, but with better traction (they are Vibrams, after all) and protection (thanks to the toe guards). Best of all, these technical slippers are very light and packable. Obvious drawbacks: You can’t wear socks or use them in cold weather, and they don’t drain sand well enough to use as a water shoe.
Price $70 USD Weight: 10 oz. Men’s 8-12 Women’s 6-10
